Boardwalk

You see this sign?
Someone who lives outside our walled city
put it up as some kind of joke I think,
to describe our city.
But no one took it down.
They all continued climbing on their ladders on the Wall.
That's when I realized that I am,
like most of us in Splash City,
stuck in a 2D world.

Have you ever felt like a 3D person stuck in a 2D world?

Hiya!
I'm Miss Guided Light!

Welcome to SPLASH CITY!

Let me take you on a grand tour
and show you around
Splash City.

And I'm not just talking about the buildings!

My tour is about dreams.

Do you have dreams?

I do.
Since I was a little girl, more than anything, I've wanted to make my dreams come true.
But whenever I confide this to anyone,
I see the same look on their face, "Good Luck with that!"
You've seen it too? So full of doubt and judgment!
Kinda kills it for you, doesn't it?

Dreams live in our hearts.
Not on a ladder or an Abusement park ride.
Judgment keeps us on a ladder. Doubt keeps us on a ride.
Both keep us away from the dream in our hearts.
Even though we may realize these attitudes destroy our dreams,
it's still really hard to get off the climb or the ride.
We all need help finding the way toward our dream!

Lots of people are falling off their ladders on the Wall these days, and so the way I see it,
they need help finding their dreams more than ever.
It's not that I'm an expert or anything.
I just want to help, and I understand how you feel, because my dream is just starting too!

I'm opening a new business called Mimosa Yoga, next to my friend Justin Tide's Wave Runner Surf Shop.
The other day I told this to my new boss Noah Tall, the manager of the Coffee Chop, and he almost spilled his coffee! That's when he told me 'dream' is a five letter word.
"New ideas could crumble our beloved walled city, that's why baggage claim checkers are an integral part of Ladder Village," he said. "They check for new ideas in everyone's carry-on drama bags, making sure they are each accounted for and not turning into pearls of wisdom."

So on my tour, it's just the opposite.
You can bring in your dreams, but please leave your drama bags behind.  See over there? I have a special place for them beside the pier.
You can always pick them back up after the tour is over.
Splash City is a funky, cool place to live, but to survive in Splash City you have to know that dreams are not allowed. So we're taking a risk in bringing our dreams into the city.

Do you have a dream with you already?
That's great, I'll help you sneak it in.
If you don't have one already,
I have a little something for you from my friend Ms. Star Bright.
It's a dreamcatcher that can help you find your dreams.
Hold it in your hand and don't let any of your vision sparkles spill out.
It's very difficult to pick up after, if you spill it! You have to hold your vision sparkles for the entire tour. It's the first step on the journey to becoming 3D.  If you don't hold your own vision, someone will find a vision for you.  And most likely, it won't be your vision, and so you will always feel stuck.

You see, nobody really talks about it here, but there are two distinct classes of folks, or Splashians, as we call them.  Most Splashians are muted or 2D and stuck on the Wall or a ride, and then there are those few who are vibrant or 3D, and they're the ones who are free and living their dreams.

Whoa! Hold onto your vision sparkles as Vortex zips by!
He's definitely 3D, a tornado of ideas!
I don't know for sure, but I think he's the one who put up

the sign of the times. You can't tell when Vortex is in motion, but when he comes to a stop you can see him roller skating,
his guitar hanging on his back. Vortex was the one who came up with this cool idea called U Splash as a way to help people become more 3D. You see, the city fell on pretty hard times which was making people become even more muted and 2D.
It was suffocating just visiting here.
But now U Splash is starting to make a difference.

See the light shining at the end of the pier?
That's Al Chemi, meditating.
He is a scientist who was a professor at UPop. Now he lives life on his own terms. I'm on my journey to my dream so I can live my life on my terms too!

Al Chemi and Vortex are good friends.
I learned from Al that to find your dream, you have to still your mind first.  He says that with chaos all around,
you have to be calm like the eye of the storm.

So as you can see, when you see a 3D person, you can't help but notice them.
I want to be more 3D myself.
Looks like you do too!

MAKE YOUR SPLASH!

Now we'll head over to the Coffee Chop at the top of the Starbright towers and I'll introduce you to my friends.
You never know who'll you run  into there.

My idol, Mzzz. Pink, you'll find out more about her later, often lands her pink chopper at the top of the building.

Al Chemi watches Uno the rental dog for her, but he is so busy meditating that Uno likes to play and take off on his own adventures.  He helps me with my tours so much that I call Uno my guide dog. He's pretty 3D himself!

Follow Uno to the Coffee Chop!
