WARNING: Cartoon Mentoring may cause moments and even extended periods of happiness, laughter, confidence, boldness and in many cases playfulness. Other symptoms may include; inner peace, unexplained generosity, fulfillment and other considered not as usual behavior. Do not attempt cartoon mentoring until you have exhausted all other possibilities and programming to your ultimate dissatisfaction. Or, spare yourself all the heartache, why not try this first!
Dear Dr. Seligman,
We hope you enjoyed our slide show.
What was your favorite cartoon character as a child? Answer quickly and honestly. Does the character match your personality?
The ability to see ourselves in cartoons is the premise behind Splash City, a Disney-like approach to personal transformation.
Our cartoon world Splash City is a playful mirror of today's culture; a projective technique that makes looking in the mirror fun while promoting emotional intelligence (EQ) and individual potential.

Our unique approach to "awaken the hero (or heroine) within" arose from my work as both a psychotherapist and a screenwriter. The hero's journey, originally devised by the late mythologist Joseph Campbell, is a psychologically grounded format often used by screenwriters (The Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, The Little Mermaid, etc.).
Using the simplifying nature of cartoon and the transformative power of story, Splash City reveals the hero's journey as well as heroic attributes (EQ); the ability to think for ourselves, trust in ourselves, use our imagination, engage our inner will, etc. In other words, we begin 'playing in 3D.'

Our approach using story (and particularly the Hero's Journey) is not only a statement to its transformative powers, but an alternative to what we at Splash City Studios call the information-overloaded, 'How-to world," which sucks the ability to think for ourselves right out of us. Like eating empty carbs we stuff ourselves with information in the hopes of improving our lives and end up malnourished and wanting more, never achieving the results we were looking for, and often becoming disillusioned, cynical, and operating in a 2D, flat state of mind.
In ancient times, wisdom was commonly conveyed through story and parable. Today, story is too often overridden by bullet points and sound bites, and denounced as an annoyance we don't have time for.
In Splash City, we are bringing the transformative power of story back to life. When we are called by story, we pause whatever we are thinking and doing to ask one of life's most important questions: What happens next? Suddenly, we care. In this cynical and competitive, How-to, bullet-pointed, information overloaded world, Splash City's warrior cry is "Information is NOT transformation!"

Our fun and colorful characters are not How-to style experts. They are Cartoon Mentors with heartfelt, common sense stories that are nourishing to our souls, and therapeutically woven to take the reader (of all ages) to the pinnacle of transformation, and begin 'playing in 3D'. The first three Life Fables revitalize the 'lost arts' of imagination, self-reliance and will:
In our Splash City cartoon characters, we created the mentors we wanted to teach us. Just like Uno, Miss Guided Light and Velocity (and so many of our other cartoon characters), we have been stuck in a cage, lost, and in pursuit of a dream few take seriously.
As Mzzz Pink's guard dog Uno says,
